Improper initialization in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-89813
Published: September 17, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to improper initialization in KIQ ring fence handling in amdgpu_device_pre_asic_reset() when the first KIQ submission is made after a MODE1 reset. A local user can trigger the first KIQ submission after a reset to cause a denial of service.
The KIQ ring uses polling fences and has no scheduler.
