Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause incorrect time calculations or unexpected behavior.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in proc_timens_set_offset() when processing a time namespace offset with an invalid nanosecond field. A local user can provide a time offset containing an out-of-range nanosecond value to cause incorrect time calculations or unexpected behavior.
