Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to read memory beyond the intended buffer.

The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in dell_wmi_process_key() in the dell-wmi-base driver when handling ultra performance key event data. A local user can trigger processing of ultra performance key event data to read memory beyond the intended buffer.
