Out-of-bounds read in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-92480
Published: September 18, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to read beyond a descriptor buffer.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in the UFS string descriptor handling function when processing a malformed UFS string descriptor. A local user can cause the kernel to process a descriptor with an invalid UTF-16 payload length to read beyond a descriptor buffer.
