Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of hard lockup recovery in the sched_ext hardlockup handler when handling a hard lockup on a CPU with interrupts disabled. A local user can trigger a hard lockup that prevents queued irq_work recovery processing from running to cause a denial of service.
