Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows an attacker with physical access to trigger a use-after-free condition.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free in the asus_probe() teardown logic of the hid-asus driver when hardware initialization fails. An attacker with physical access can trigger a hardware initialization failure to trigger a use-after-free condition.
