Incorrect behavior order in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-90261
Published: September 18, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to incorrect behavior order in btrfs btree_writepages() writeback handling when committing transactions on a zoned filesystem with dirty metadata in block groups below the active block group. A local user can trigger metadata-heavy relocation to cause a denial of service.
