Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to a race condition in Btrfs ordered extent handling when performing an append buffered write after a short direct I/O operation. A local user can trigger conflicting ordered extents to cause a denial of service.
