Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to read memory out of bounds.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in ksmbd_alloc_user() when processing a mountd IPC login response with an oversized hash_sz value. A local user can send a malformed mountd IPC login response to read memory out of bounds.
