Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to write beyond a destination page.

The vulnerability exists due to an off-by-one error in the per-token range check in ntfs_decompress() when processing a corrupted compressed $DATA attribute during a file read. A remote attacker can supply a corrupted compressed $DATA attribute to write beyond a destination page.
