Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a heap-based buffer overflow.
The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of OEM ID and OEM Table ID string lengths in acpi_ex_load_table_op() when loading an ACPI table. A local user can supply overlong OEM ID and OEM Table ID strings to cause a heap-based buffer overflow.
