Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform out-of-bounds reads.

The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in the FDP configuration descriptor parsing in nvme_query_fdp_granularity when processing FDP configurations logs containing a zero-sized or out-of-bounds configuration descriptor. A local user can cause the kernel to process such a log to perform out-of-bounds reads.
