Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a power management reference-count imbalance.

The vulnerability exists due to improper reference count management in the amdgpu_set_smartshift_bias function when handling an invalid integer value written to the SmartShift bias sysfs attribute. A local user can write an invalid integer value to the SmartShift bias sysfs attribute to cause a power management reference-count imbalance.
