Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause false alerts.

The vulnerability exists due to a race condition in Btrfs extent buffer reference handling when metadata-read completion races with B-tree folio invalidation. A local user can trigger concurrent filesystem operations to cause false alerts.
