Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to trigger a use-after-free condition.

The vulnerability exists due to improper error handling in xive_smp_probe() when handling a failed XIVE IPI initialization. A local user can cause xive_setup_cpu_ipi() to dereference the freed global xive_ipis array to trigger a use-after-free condition.

The initialization failure may occur when irq_domain_alloc_irqs() fails.
