Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to trigger a use-after-free condition.
The vulnerability exists due to use-after-free in pec_store when handling PEC configuration writes. A local user can invoke the affected PEC configuration write path to trigger a use-after-free condition.
The condition occurs when a chip write operation returns an error other than -EOPNOTSUPP and releasing the device drops its final reference.
