Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of placeholder stacktrace fields in trace event histogram processing when parsing a histogram trigger with a STACKTRACE key. A local user can configure a histogram trigger using the STACKTRACE key and generate a trace event to cause a denial of service.
