Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to incorrect block-reservation calculations in the XFS scrub repair code when repairing shortform directories. A local user can invoke XFS metadata scrubbing and repair to cause a denial of service.

The issue occurs when a directory block spans multiple filesystem blocks.
