Vulnerability identifier: #VU152676
CSH Severity: Low
CVSS v4: 1.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:H/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
CVE-ID: CVE-2026-97535
CWE-ID: CWE-787
Exploitation vector: Local access
Exploit availability: No public exploit available

Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local privileged user to cause an out-of-bounds write.

The vulnerability exists due to improper bounds checking in the qla2xxx VP control IOCB handling when processing a virtual port index that exceeds the vp_idx_map bitmap capacity. A local privileged user can submit a VP control operation containing an out-of-range virtual port index to cause an out-of-bounds write.

Exploitation is limited to adapters whose reported NPIV virtual-port capacity permits virtual port indices above 128.
