Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause incorrect BPF verifier register-range tracking.

The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of scalar IDs in the BPF verifier check_cond_jmp_op() function when processing conditional jumps involving linked scalar registers. A local user can submit a BPF program with many linked registers to cause incorrect BPF verifier register-range tracking.

Linked-register groups that exceed the verifier tracking limit are required.
