Out-of-bounds read in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-98372
Published: October 7, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to trigger an out-of-bounds read of kernel stack memory.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in iptfs_skb_reset_frag_walk() when processing an IP-TFS payload with an offset at or beyond the total length of the fragment data. A remote attacker can send a crafted IP-TFS (AGGFRAG) payload to advance the fragment index beyond the fixed-size stack array to trigger an out-of-bounds read of kernel stack memory.
Exploitation requires delivery to an IP-TFS security association. The receive path reaches the vulnerable function through iptfs_reassem_cont() and iptfs_skb_can_add_frags().
