Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to deplete kernel memory.

The vulnerability exists due to a memory leak caused by incomplete error-path cleanup in prepare_signaling() in the DRM subsystem when handling a request that provides an out_fence_ptr without DRM_MODE_PAGE_FLIP_EVENT and encounters an allocation failure or a failure in setup_out_fence(). A local user can trigger an error path that leaves a drm_pending_vblank_event unreleased to deplete kernel memory.
