Out-of-bounds read in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-98292
Published: October 7, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to trigger reads beyond the end of a received socket buffer.
The vulnerability exists due to missing event-length validation in the Bluetooth btmtksdio and btmtkuart drivers when processing firmware-supplied WMT events. A local user can supply short or malformed WMT events to trigger reads beyond the end of a received socket buffer.
