Use-after-free in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-98294
Published: October 7, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local privileged user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to use-after-free involving the dangling serport->tty pointer when the Bluetooth power-off path accesses an already closed serial port. A local privileged user can unbind the driver after a controller failure to cause a denial of service.
The advisory identifies the dangling-pointer issue as separate from the closed-port handling issue and does not provide a separate CVE identifier.
