Out-of-bounds read in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-98221
Published: October 7, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause out-of-bounds memory reads.
The vulnerability exists due to incorrect bounds checking in tpm2_load_cmd() when loading an ASN.1-encoded TPM 2.0 trusted key blob. A local user can supply a crafted trusted key blob to cause out-of-bounds memory reads.
The boundary checks use the ASN.1-encoded payload size rather than the decoded blob size.
