Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to trigger accesses to freed driver data.

The vulnerability exists due to use-after-free in the w83791d driver's fan/pwm 4-5 sysfs callbacks when accessing leftover sysfs files after driver unbind. A local user can access these leftover files to trigger accesses to freed driver data.

The optional sysfs group is created only when the fan/pwm 4-5 pins are not used as GPIO.
