CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98188
CWE-ID: CWE-125
Exploitation vector: Local access
Exploit availability: No public exploit available

Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause out-of-bounds reads past the EEPROM buffer.

The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in p54_convert_rev0() and p54_convert_rev1() when processing device-supplied EEPROM calibration curve entries with channel and points-per-channel counts that exceed the available entry data. A local user can supply an EEPROM entry declaring more calibration curve data than it contains to cause out-of-bounds reads past the EEPROM buffer.

Exploitation requires control over the device-supplied EEPROM entry.
