Use-after-free in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-98166
Published: October 7, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to use-after-free in the DRM TTM bulk-move resource bookkeeping when swapped-out resources are freed while bulk-move range endpoints still reference them. A local user can trigger subsequent buffer-object bulk-move operations that access the freed resources to cause a denial of service.
Crashes have been observed minutes to hours after hibernation, or during process exit or reboot following hibernation.
