Race condition in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-98252
Published: October 8, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to compromise system confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
The vulnerability exists due to a race condition in reference count initialization in iwpm_get_nlmsg_request() in the Linux kernel RDMA core when publishing a request to a global list before initializing its reference count. A local user can trigger concurrent access to the incompletely initialized request to compromise system confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
