Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to exhaust system resources and cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improperly applied rate limiting in the protocol handling of Cisco NX-OS Software when processing connections received on a data plane interface. A remote attacker can send a high rate of UDP or TCP connections to that interface to exhaust system resources and cause a denial of service.

Exploitation does not depend on device configuration.
