CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98376
CWE-ID: CWE-125
Exploitation vector: Local access
Exploit availability: No public exploit available

Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to read memory outside the bounds of a per-cpu array's pointer storage.

The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read caused by missing max_entries validation in the BPF per-cpu array inner-map handling code when processing lookups after an inner map is replaced with a smaller map. A local user can replace an inner map with one containing fewer entries and trigger a lookup using the original template's JIT-inlined index_mask to read memory outside the bounds of the pptrs[] array.
