Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a remote user to spoof the recorded creator of a company.
The vulnerability exists due to improperly controlled mass assignment of the created_by attribute in CompaniesController::store and the Company model when processing API creation requests. A remote user can submit a request containing another user's identifier in created_by to spoof the recorded creator of a company.
Exploitation requires API authentication and create permission for companies. The Company model has no observer to record the actual creator separately.
