CVE-ID: N/A
CWE-ID: CWE-125
Exploitation vector: Remote access
Exploit availability: No public exploit available

Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service by crashing the FreeRDP client.

The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in freerdp_dsp_decode_gsm610 when decoding truncated GSM610/WAV49 audio without checking that a complete 33-byte or 32-byte frame remains before calling gsm_decode. A remote attacker can operate a malicious RDP server that a victim connects to and send a length-consistent WAVE2 message containing an incomplete audio frame over the rdpsnd channel to cause the client to read beyond the audio buffer and potentially crash.

Exploitation requires a build configured with WITH_GSM=ON and WITH_DSP_FFMPEG=OFF.
