CVSS v4: 4.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98437
CWE-ID: CWE-772
Exploitation vector: Local access
Exploit availability: No public exploit available

Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause runtime power-management reference leaks that may prevent power domains from suspending and increase power consumption.

The vulnerability exists due to missing releases of runtime power-management references in the Qualcomm Iris driver's iris_enable_power_domains() and iris_disable_power_domains() functions when power-domain operations fail. A local user can trigger these error paths to leave runtime power-management usage counts unbalanced, potentially keeping power domains active unnecessarily.
