NULL pointer dereference in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-98522
Published: October 22, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service by triggering a kernel NULL pointer dereference.
The vulnerability exists due to incorrect propagation of mapping errors in the Linux kernel Imagination GPU driver's pvr_mmu_map_sgl() function when handling GPU memory mapping failures. A local user can trigger a mapping operation that fails to cause pvr_mmu_map() to continue processing instead of returning an error, leading to a NULL pointer dereference and kernel crash.
