Use-after-free in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-98533
Published: October 22, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local privileged user to potentially cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to use-after-free in the Linux kernel's IPE dm-verity root-hash handling when a root hash is replaced while policy evaluation still references it. A local privileged user can potentially exploit this concurrent access to freed memory to cause a kernel crash and denial of service.
