Out-of-bounds write in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-98635
Published: October 22, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to corrupt kernel memory and potentially cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to a missing array bounds check in blk_revalidate_zone_cond() when processing device-reported zones during disk zone revalidation. A local user can supply a device zone report containing more zones than the allocated zones_cond array can hold to trigger an out-of-bounds write and potentially cause a denial of service.
