Use-after-free in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-98662
Published: October 22, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to potentially cause a denial of service by triggering a kernel use-after-free.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free in the Linux kernel gp2ap020a00f light sensor driver when queued IRQ work executes after device removal has freed the trigger object. A local user can exploit this timing window to cause pending work to call iio_trigger_poll() on the freed object, potentially crashing the kernel.
