Vulnerability identifier: #VU157107
CSH Severity: Low
CVSS v4: 5.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98757
CWE-ID: CWE-416
Exploitation vector: Local access
Exploit availability: No public exploit available

Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to potentially cause a kernel crash and denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free in cdns3_gadget_exit() in the Linux kernel USB cdns3 gadget driver when tearing down a gadget device with deferred work still queued. A local user can exploit deferred work accessing freed device memory after teardown to potentially cause a kernel crash and denial of service.
