Use-after-free in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-98758
Published: October 22, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause memory corruption that may result in a denial of service through a kernel crash.
The vulnerability exists due to use-after-free in the Linux kernel UCSI GLINK driver when queued work executes after the UCSI instance has been unregistered during device removal. Notification callbacks can continue queuing work before device-managed cleanup releases the pmic_glink client, allowing that work to dereference the freed connector array or register and unregister the instance again. A local user can potentially exploit this removal-time race to access freed kernel state and cause a kernel crash.
