Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to disclose sensitive information by reading credentialed cross-origin responses from a Camel endpoint.

The vulnerability exists due to a permissive cross-domain policy with untrusted domains in the Apache Camel Platform HTTP Vertx createCorsHandler() function when handling requests carrying an Origin header. A remote attacker can trick a victim into visiting a malicious page that sends credentialed cross-origin requests to read sensitive responses because the handler reflects arbitrary origins in Access-Control-Allow-Origin while also sending Access-Control-Allow-Credentials: true.
