Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service through memory exhaustion.

The vulnerability exists due to inconsistent enforcement of resource limits in Apache bRPC's non-progressive HTTP/1 and HTTP/2 parsers and memcache and couchbase response parsers when buffering message bodies. A remote attacker can send message data exceeding the configured max_body_size limit to make an affected process buffer excessive data and potentially exhaust its memory.
