CSH Severity: Low
CVSS v4: 6.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98940
CWE-ID: CWE-787
Exploitation vector: Local access
Exploit availability: No public exploit available

Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local privileged user to potentially cause a denial of service through kernel memory corruption.

The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds write in the Qualcomm LPASS CPU driver's asoc_qcom_lpass_cpu_platform_probe() function when configuring playback channel constraints for a DAI using LPAIF_I2SCTL_MODE_QUAD01 on platforms with sparse DAI IDs. A local privileged user can trigger the affected probe path to cause a hardware port ID to be used as a DAI driver table index, potentially corrupting kernel memory and causing a denial of service.
