Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to a null pointer dereference in the Linux kernel AMD display driver's link_set_dpms_on() and link_set_dpms_off() functions when processing display power-management transitions without a stream sink. A local user can trigger affected operations while stream->sink is null to potentially cause a kernel crash and denial of service.
