Division by zero in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-98919
Published: October 24, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to division by zero and integer arithmetic errors in the Linux kernel Xe graphics driver's adjust_idledly() function when calculating hardware idle delays during initialization. A local user can potentially trigger a kernel panic if able to initiate the affected initialization path with an unrecognized crystal clock, which leaves the clock-derived divisor at zero.
