Use-after-free in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-98895
Published: October 24, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to potentially cause a denial of service by triggering a kernel crash.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free in the mlx5 hardware steering table management code when destroying a table with a configured default miss table. A local user can trigger destruction of such a table to leave a stale entry in the miss table's list, potentially causing a kernel crash during subsequent list access.
