Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local privileged user to trigger an unintended kernel warning during system suspend.

The vulnerability exists due to a reachable assertion in the iwl_mld_wowlan_suspend() function of the Linux kernel's iwlwifi MLD driver when suspending with Wake on Wireless LAN configured while disconnected from a network and without network detection configured. A local privileged user can configure this combination and initiate suspend to trigger the WARN_ON() assertion despite the configuration being valid.
