Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds write in the smbx component of macOS when processing input. A local user can supply crafted input that triggers writes outside intended memory boundaries to escalate privileges on the system.
