Cross-site scripting in SCEditor - #VU158276
Published: October 28, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a remote user to execute arbitrary JavaScript in a victim's browser in the context of an affected application.
The vulnerability exists due to improper neutralization of executable HTML in SCEditor's toBBCode() method when converting untrusted HTML to BBCode. A remote user can supply malicious HTML such as <img src="/x.png" onerror="document.body.xss()"> to execute arbitrary JavaScript when a victim uses an application that processes this content.
The editor itself is not vulnerable.
