CVSS v4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
CVE-ID: CVE-2026-99154
CWE-ID: CWE-125
Exploitation vector: Remote access
Exploit availability: No public exploit available

Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to trigger an out-of-bounds kernel memory read that may cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in the Linux kernel libiscsi task lookups when processing a negative task index returned by parse_pdu_itt. A remote attacker can send an unsolicited NOP-In PDU from an iSCSI target through the be2iscsi transport with an ITT value that becomes a negative signed index to cause a read before the session's task array, potentially crashing the kernel.
